| | | | | | | | ABOUT THE 2013 CHEVROLET MALIBU | | | | |
| | | | | | With its tailored appearance and formal roofline, the new 2013 Chevrolet Malibu looks like it could fetch far more than its low-$20's price range. Chevrolet has become known for quiet, comfort, and composure. This affordable midsize sedan definitely serves this tradition, promising a relaxed ride and hushed cabin due to acoustic laminated glass and triple door seals. The 2013 Chevrolet Malibu has grown 2.7 inches wider, translating into 2 cubic feet more passenger volume with most of the increase allowing more passenger shoulder and hip room. Cool-blue direct lighting, contrast-color stitching, and accent upholstery welting set a pleasant mood. Eight airbags are standard and second-row side-impact airbags are optional. The radio's color touch screen hinges up to reveal a six-inch-deep illuminated storage cubby, and an all-new MyLink infotainment system includes both Pandora® and Stitcher™ SmartRadio.Three trim levels will be offered- the LS, LT, and LTZ. The optional-goodies list includes navigation, lane-departure and forward-collision warning systems, and a rearview camera. OnStar® is standard with six months' free subscription. The exterior is conservatively elegant yet evolutionary. A more prominent grille, a subtly creased hood, and the decklid's neatly integrated spoiler are the main visual attractions. Projector headlights and Camaro-like dual-element LED taillights merge the Malibu into the fashion mainstream.Malibu Eco The 2013 Malibu Eco, Malibu's hybrid version, has fuel-saving e Assist propulsion technology and delivers a GM-estimated 25 mpg city and 37 mpg highway; while an all-new Ecotec 2.5L engine is expected to achieve more than 30 mpg on the highway. This translates into the best fuel economy ever for a Chevrolet mid-size car. But Chevrolet didn't sacrifice the car's visual appeal for fuel efficiency. Indeed, it adds a bit of flavor to the midsize sedan market. Just by using the 2013 Chevrolet Malibu Eco, the lithium-ion battery stores energy. That energy delivers an electric boost to the engine later, during situations like heavy acceleration and climbing inclines. While the vehicle is at a stop, the engine shuts off and the battery-powered generator powers accessories, saving fuel for later use. All these seemingly little things add up to great fuel efficiency.Regardless of the trim level or engine option, the 2013 Chevrolet Malibu is a fantastic mid-size vehicle for today's market. Passenger comfort, spaciousness, and delicate craftsmanship show the height of Chevrolet design. | | |
