This translates into the best fuel economy ever for a Chevrolet mid-size car. But Chevrolet didn't sacrifice the car's visual appeal for fuel efficiency. Indeed, it adds a bit of flavor to the midsize sedan market. Just by using the 2013 Chevrolet Malibu Eco, the lithium-ion battery stores energy. That energy delivers an electric boost to the engine later, during situations like heavy acceleration and climbing inclines. While the vehicle is at a stop, the engine shuts off and the battery-powered generator powers accessories, saving fuel for later use.
